Johann Zarco faces extremely tough conditions to win the 8 Hours of Suzuka this Sunday.
On the night of the 46th Suzuka 8 Hours, Johann Zarco enjoyed his second consecutive victory in Japan, and he was enjoying the joy of victory. Throughout the morning, Zarko and his teammate Takumi Takahashi took turns relaying and had an impressive performance. There is an additional limitation compared to the competition: all other teams are made up of three drivers.
After taking the lead, and in each round, they maintained a considerable lead, often fluctuating between 20 and 40 seconds despite the constant attacks of their opponents. Takahashi’s third pit stop on lap 83 marked a turning point. The pit stop was extended by a few minutes, allowing the Honda HRC to enter one less time. This is a key strategic move in the race for victory.
“I really enjoyed the Suzuka 8 Hours and it was a great feeling to ride the best and very fun motorcycle to ride. However, today’s race was very tough and the test conditions were extremely harsh. He revealed this on race night through comments relayed by Honda HRC.
“I was able to maintain control on the track as I expected, but it was much more difficult to recover between stages than I thought.” The race is not a long, calm river, with many unforeseen events testing HRC’s nerves, and Yamaha remains a threat.
