The Los Angeles Lakers of the NBA announced today that they have completed a three-year contract extension worth $165 million (about NT$4.9 billion) with five-time All-Star guard Luka Doncic.
Doncic posted on social media: “I just renewed my contract with the Lakers. It’s great to continue to work hard for the Lakers to win the championship and make Lakers fans proud. Thank you to the Lakers, my teammates, and all the fans who have given me so much love since day one. This is just the beginning.”
The 26-year-old Doncic changed from the Dallas Mavericks to the Lakers jersey in February this year through a blockbuster trade.
Since joining the Lakers, Doncic has played in 28 regular season games for the Purple and Gold, averaging 28.2 points, 8.1 rebounds, 7.5 assists and 1.6 steals per game.
