Messi injured his right leg muscle and was listed as an injured soldier, and his return date has not been determined

(AFP, Miami, 3) Major League Soccer MLS Inter Miami announced in a statement today that captain Messi will be absent due to a “slight muscle injury in his right leg” and his return time is to be determined.

The 38-year-old Argentine legend Lionel Messi withdrew with a right thigh injury shortly after the start of the Leagues Cup match against Mexico’s Necaxa at Inter Miami’s home game yesterday, which Inter Miami won on penalties.

Messi returned to the lounge 11 minutes after the start.

Inter Miami’s statement noted that Messi “underwent a medical examination to assess his muscle discomfort”, which forced him to withdraw from the game.

“The results of the examination confirmed that he had a slight injury to the muscles in his right leg. His medical clearance (allowed to return) will depend on his clinical progress and response to treatment.”

This means that there is no exact time for Messi’s return to the pitch. He is currently tied for the top scorer with 18 goals and nine assists in 18 games this season.
